About the Project
The project aims to modernize early childhood education by integrating advanced technologies—particularly Machine Learning (ML)—into the training of future pre-school teachers.
In today’s educational landscape, digital technologies are becoming an essential part of teaching and learning. However, their application in early childhood education remains limited. SMARTSTART addresses this gap by equipping future educators with the knowledge and practical skills needed to apply innovative, data-driven teaching approaches.

Project Objectives
The main goal of the project is to strengthen the digital competencies of pre-school teacher candidates and enable them to effectively use Machine Learning in educational settings.
The project aims to:
develop an ML-integrated curriculum,
promote innovative teaching methodologies,
support inclusive and personalized learning,
contribute to the digital transformation of education across Europe.
During the project, the consortium will:
design and develop an innovative ML-integrated curriculum,
organize training sessions and hands-on workshops for educators,
implement pilot activities in real educational environments,
create a multilingual open-access digital platform with learning resources,
foster collaboration between education, technology, and research sectors.
